This bag is made from a very fine mesh material. It is double stitched all the way around, first by a simple straight stitch all the way around and then again by a tighter surge stitch around the complete edges of the bag. This helps if you need to squeeze on the bag so that you don't quickly and easily tear the seems open. We use these in a lot of different ways to strain juices, nut milks, soups, etc. My husbands main and favorite use is for sprouting things such as alfalfa, quinoa, mung beans and lentils. They have special containers for doing this, jars with screen lids and we both made and purchased these when he first started to learn about home sprouting. After much sprouting and experimentation he found his favorite and most successful way of doing it is via nut bags. He finds often with the jars no matter how hard he tries to get the water out and let the jar with a mesh lid sit upside down to completely drain after daily rinses that some water stays inside and if not careful quickly destroys and starts to rot the things hes trying to sprout. With the bags he can carefully squeeze out excess water after rinsing and then hang the bag for the rest of the water to drip out into the sink or a bowl. He has used the bag repeatedly over the last few weeks for sprouting and it's holding up strong; no change in color, odor or stress straining the seams. They do say that the Mylar bag it comes packaged in is reusable, and it is but we felt that we preferred to throw it out and store the bag hanging on hook because we use it so frequently hubby likes to keep it in reach while in the kitchen. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars *by C***A on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 31, 2016* This is a wonderful product.
