## Description

Bring the charm of traditional German Christmas decor with this 50cm wooden nutcracker soldier. Its classic colors and movable parts create a festive focal point.

## Features

- Half a Metre of Christmas Magic: Ever noticed how one decoration sets the tone for a whole room? At 50cm, in his red coat with his chin up and his moustache bristling, our nutcracker soldier turns a bare mantelpiece into the corner everyone looks at.
- Solid Wood, Shaped All the Way Round: He is painted in traditional colours and stands on his own wooden base with no hook, no wall fixing and nothing to lean him against. Good from any angle, on a shelf or in the middle of a table.
- He Goes Where You Want Him: Mantelpiece, fireplace, hallway console or windowsill, or on sentry duty beside the tree. Buyers tell us they add another each year and stand them side by side, and plenty leave theirs out long after Christmas.
- Exactly How Big He Is: 50cm tall, or 20 inches, about knee height on an adult. He is a proper centrepiece rather than a tree ornament, and a decorative figure for indoor display rather than a toy. His mouth lever moves for show, not for cracking nuts.
- A Tradition Worth Passing On: German families have kept nutcracker soldiers by the hearth for generations, and the story goes that they watch over the household and bring it luck. Children who know them from the ballet tend to spot him straight away.
- Nearly Thirty Nutcrackers to Collect: Our range runs from 13cm tree hangers through 30cm guards, kings and drummers up to this half-metre soldier, so a display you start this year is an easy one to add to. He arrives boxed, ready to give or to store.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can you crack nuts with this one? Or is it purely decorative?**
A: No it’s a decoration

**Q: Hi, would I be able to display it outside under the front porch, or would the paint get weathered quite quickly if it gets wet?**
A: I would think this is not suitable for an outside porch, I’m sure it would not weather well plus the hair and beard would get damp.

**Q: Can nuts be cracked with this or is it just an ornament**
A: No you can't crack nuts with it it is an ornament

**Q: Does the mouth move?**
A: Come now, the title tells you- Nutcracker Soldier. There is a lever at the back which when raised opens the mouth to place the nut inside, close lever crush nut - job done. I have not tried to use it as a nutcracker - it was bought only as an ornament
