Use weekly not monthly. Doesn't work well enough to last a month between cleanings. The granules were sticky again after just a few days. Not sure this is any good. This powder does a fantastic job of clearing off the poop retained or smeared in the Genie, keeps it smelling and running better. This product does not have much of an odor of it's own, but it does greatly reduce the smell of the Cat Genie when it cycles. I use it about once/month to keep the Cat Genie working in our 1 cat home.
