Review: Bad batch? - This Sahlep had an odor that I thought maybe was just me having a sensitive nose. Tried to make a sahlep drink with a very minute amount, down to a little less than what was described on the label. Nonetheless the drink tasted like the smell which made it unbearable to let cool. I’m not pregnant and in fact, my boyfriend also commented on the taste/odor which rules out me having a sensitive nose. In my review I’m including a picture of what this is and comparing it to what you get from Iran/Turkey. The tastes and smell are also completely different. The pure sahlep from Turkey has no odor and is way more white

This Sahlep had an odor that I thought maybe was just me having a sensitive nose. Tried to make a sahlep drink with a very minute amount, down to a little less than what was described on the label. Nonetheless the drink tasted like the smell which made it unbearable to let cool. I’m not pregnant and in fact, my boyfriend also commented on the taste/odor which rules out me having a sensitive nose. In my review I’m including a picture of what this is and comparing it to what you get from Iran/Turkey. The tastes and smell are also completely different. The pure sahlep from Turkey has no odor and is way more white
