It is very sturdy in weight and all painted steel (baby pink option purchased). For a woman with tiny hands, I was a bit fearful that I would drop it and slice my leg. However, the weight allowed me to remember not to apply pressure while shaving and to hold the razor at 30 degrees at all times. I did get my fingers too close to the blades when putting on the first blade, because I didn’t know what I was doing.In the box, you will find your safety razor, a pack of 10 refill blades, and NO instructions what so ever! I had to ask my 71 year old mother how to open this thing to put in a blade, because I had no clue. It is a simple unscrew of the handle that releases the cover. Then I decided it would be a smart idea to look on YouTube to see how to use it before user error leads to an ER visit. Type in the brand name and up pops a video on how to load the blades and how to use the safety razor.I really don’t know what took me so long because my shaved arms (first spot tested) feel so smooth and soft that I will never go back to disposable razors.Update: I’m still using this razor; however, I added EOS shea butter dry skin shave cream to keep from nicking. Also, I purchased a leather case to keep it from potentially getting scratches.
