Start small.. *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 2 June 2025* The Carolina Reaper curry powder is the real deal. It was so hot that I could not finish my small serving in one sitting. This is coming from someone from the Southwest US who has had her fair share of hot chilies. Those who say it isn't as hot as expected must have watered it down or built up a tolerance to the hottest chilies. Eat with care!Update: I tried the Phaal next. The heat ratings are accurate-- the Phaal is still extremely spicy but less so than the Carolina Reaper. Good flavour, but I recommend adding cream to enhance flavour and tamp down the heat. It's a bit pricey for just a small packet of powder, but considering it's restaurant quality and is enough to feed a big family (or multi-day servings for one), it's a decent value. From the advertising above, I thought it would blow me away, but it didn't. The search for the curry that finally destroys me goes on ...With that being said, it does have a great flavour, and the heat level is still devilishly hot. If you like very hot curries, then go for it.
