Personally, I like it the best because not only is it safe for pets, but it doesn't leave any gross residue on the ground or on the floors. It's A LOT lighter than most ice salts/melts especially after buying a giant bag of some other crappy brand. This stuff lasts a lot longer, works faster, and is easier to spread. I could care less about how the bucket opens because I would prefer knowing it stays closed. My only complaint is the scoop because it's a bit flimsy, but the bucket can be repurposed to use for something else.
