## Description

This is for a new Lycamobile Tri cut sim card , nano, micro, standard. Easy to activate and port your number.

Review: Easy, cheap, anonymous, ideal for traveler, tourist, temporary or back-up phone. - Prepaid in the US is a pain, most providers have all kinds of hidden fees and tricks to get money from you and collect all kind of private information to bother you afterwards. Not with Lyca, it even works with an older AT&T iPhone 4. Lyca actually the best choice if you call less than 200 minutes per month or when you are just visiting the US temporary. Minimum top up is $10 and is valid forever as long as you make or receive one call or TXT per 90 days. It costs 5 cents per minute/text sending AND receiving. There is no data or picture text support when using prepay, just use Wi-Fi for data. Calling international costs is 1 cent extra per minute for most countries: [...] Calling is free between Lyca mobile users, even internationally. * You have to activate it online before you put the SIM in your phone: [...] * The only thing you have to fill in is ICCID number printed on the SIM, a ZIP code so you get a phone number from that region and an e-mail address, the e-mail address also does not need to be real because they don't ask to confirm it. * When it is activated insert the SIM and see if you get a signal. You will get a TXT with your new phone number. * Now you have to add some credits (Refill) using a PIN code, the minimum is $10 you can get it online for example here[...]ID=535&name=Lycamobile-Refill---PIN and use the coupon CCSMR14 to get 10% off. Also here, you don't need to enter a real e-mail address but if you do you also get the PIN code mailed instead of just shown on the screen. * Dial 611 from your mobile phone and follow the automated prompts to enter the PIN. * Now you can call, don't forget to use it once in 90 days.
Review: Great for what it is - Cheapest Per Minute Prepay and no monthly or annual minumim to keep your minutes - LycaMobile is based in the UK and web traffic reportedly is routed through the UK, therefore data speeds will be a somewhat slower than most other T-Mobile MVNOs. They exclusively use the T-Mobile network in USA with NO ROAMING available at all - which is why some people are complaining that they get better service with T-Mobile than Lycamobile. SIM ONLY works with unlocked phones - This SIM will NOT work with T-Mobile phones unless unlocked! While they do have monthly plans, where this service shines is for spare or low use cellphones. It would also be a great idea to test the prepay service before going to a monthly plan. Cards require a $10 payment to activate. Autorenewals are available at $10 and up for trigger levels as low as $1. Reports are that it is a good idea to keep your balance below $16 to avoid being accidentally upgraded to a monthly plan. --------------- Paygo Rates:2 ¢/minute, 4 ¢ / text, and 6 ¢/ MB (= $60. / gig!) in USA. (Data is rounded up to nearest 200kb per connection.)

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Are there any other phone plans similar to LycaMobile's? I'm looking for something cheap with no mandatory monthly fees.**
A: There are a number of MVNOs (Mobile Virtual Network Operators). I think they all service the 48 contiguous U.S. states at a minimum, but am not positive. Just Google the acronym for lists and links, or you can even search in Amazon. Some that I can think of offhand are Lycamobile, Tello, H2O, Tracfone, Boost-Mobile, Metro Plus, FreedomPop, Republic, Red Pocket, and Virgin Mobile. Just about all offer both pay-as-you-go (PAYG) and prepaid monthly plans. I recommend the PAYG plans if you want a phone for emergencies (keep in a glove box, drawer, etc.) or other occasional use, though many of the monthly plans are so cheap ($15-$20/month for unlimited talk & text) that you might end up choosing one of those. For the PAYG plans you pay usually pay one set charge for everything, which is then deducted depending on service, e.g., $.02/minute talk, $.01/text, $.10/MB data. The monthly plans usually give you 500MB to 2GB data per month. For just talk and text, the MVNOs are a far better bargain than any of the major carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon); data is where they lose their advantage. Large (e.g., 5GB/month or more) data users will end up paying a lot. Aside from that, the important factor is whether your Android phone is GSM compatible or CDMA compatible. (iPhones are a whole 'nother animal). Most MVNOs and carriers will work with only one type of Android phone. AT&T and T-Mobile, for example, are GSM-compatible; Sprint and Verizon are CDMA. My personal recommendation: FOR--Tello (if you have a CDMA or Apple device): prices are great, and customer service is even better. Against--FreedomPop--you can actually get absolutely free (CDMA) service from them, if you only expect to need service slightly more than none at all, but anything more than that will probably involve going through Customer Service, which is ABOMINABLE; I recommend them only if you don't mind shouting yourself hoarse at them.

**Q: can i use this sim card in my apple iphone 3g 8gb if its unlocked**
A: Yes. I am using it in unlocked iPhone 3g.

**Q: Since there are 2, do I have to insert both?**
A: There are not 2 SIMs.Dual SIM card in this case means that there is a SIM card that will fit phones that take different size SIMs, both the regular (full) size SIM and some smartphones that take the micro (medium) size SIM. The iPhone takes the even smaller nano size SIM. This particular SIM card will fit either a phone that takes the full size and the micro SIM size.

**Q: Can it work with qlink phones**
A: It will work if it is unlocked. Buy here https://amzn.to/3a7mtq9.

### ⭐ Lycamobile's Exterimely Inefficient, Illeterate and Indeferent Customer Service!
*by A***R on April 14, 2014*

If you are planning to pick your desired area code, make sure to register your Lycamobile SIM Card online first, pick your own area code before activating the SIM Card, otherwise, it won't let you make any changes to your number. I purchased a Pre-funded monthly Lycamobile SIM Card, followed the instructions on the SIM Card to activate it on the phone. Since it did not let me pick the area code I wish to pick, I contacted the Lycamobile Customer service and after talking to two people, I was told by both of them that I could register another Lyca Mobile SIM Card online, choose my area code, then call the customer service and they would transfer my credits to the new number on the new SIM Card. I called them back after following their instruction and registering another SIM Card online, but the customer service representative, who answered the phone, said it would be impossible to transfer the credential to the new Number on the new SIM. After spending a long time on the phone, a supervisor told me that he could process the request to transfer the credits to the new number and it would be completed within 24 hours and I would hear from someone once it is completed but nothing happened! I called again and I was told that within 24 hours the area code would be converted to the new area code but nothing happened! After calling again, the acknowledged that they had misinformed me about it and told me that within 24-48 hours I'd hear from their Headquarter in the UK but after about 2 weeks nothing happened. When I wanted to file a complaint against Lycamobile at the BBB, I read the reviews and noticed that Lycamobile does not have a good reputation with the BBB either: [...]
