It holds about 15 to 16 cups of food comfortably (16 if up to the brim). **Q: What is the Water capacity of the 4 lb container** A: I didn't measure water capacity but I did measure cups of dog food - I fit 15 cups of dog food comfortably in it and just barely got a 16th cup filling it to the brim.
