Kit Includes 1 Carbonator (Sparkling Water Maker), 1 PET Bottle, 1 User Manual (Gas Cylinder is a separate purchase) Bottle is safe, nontoxic and made from high quality PET plastic Sleek and Compact Construction requires no batteries or electricity Requires separate purchase of 60L 14.5 oz Co2 carbonator cartridge, which is easily exchanged at several of your favorite retailers like bublebro FILL Fill the Aarke water bottle to the "fill line" that is marked on the bottle. Be sure to only use pure water and never try to carbonate any other liquids. The water can be any temperature but we recommend refrigerated water as it takes the gas better. Simply screw the bottle onto the machine until it is tight. CARBONATE To carbonate the water you simply pull down the handle and you will see the gas release into the bottle. You hold down the handle until you hear a sort of "burp" sound... that means it is complete and you simply release the handle. This process can be done in as quick as 2 seconds. Timing depends a little bit on how full your Co2 tank is. If you are looking for more bubbles in your water you can repeat this step as many as 2 more times ... everyones preference is different. Try one pull and then see if that slight / soft bubble works for you; if not kick it up with another pull. Eventually you will know what you like and have determined if you a 1,2 or 3 pull individual! ENJOY! Unscrew the bottle and enjoy the bubbles. If you want to add some flavour; do so only in the glass or a carafe and not in the aarke carbonating bottle. More bubbles. Review: Trouvant que la machine sodasteam SPIRIT faisait un peu plastique , j ai voulu essayer cette machine apparence c'est sur le design suédois est bien , c'est de l'inox plein de choix de couleur j'ai pris "brass" mais inox est peut être mieux un manuel de bonne qualité en bon Français style marque allemande fonctionnement c'est un levier donc plus pratique que l'appui sur un poussoir de sodastream même principe de fonctionnement 5 appuis sur la sodastream 3 mouvements de levier sur la aarke pas de manomètre ou de gadget pour mesurer la gazéification , pas de réglages c'est très bruyant beaucoup plus que sodastream cela fait un peu percolateur dans un cafe en position basse on compresse le gaz , au retour cela libère le trop blein de gaz la petite grille sert a évacuer un trop plein d'eau qui arrive au 3eme mouvement ( trop de pression ?) il faut éponger le réservoir avec une éponge attention on visse la bouteille donc plus complique que sofdastream ( auto blocage) il faut bien centrer la bouteille verticalement les bouteilles aarke sont bien ( très proche bouteille sodastream inox) j'ai essaye des bouteilles sodastream qui sont compatibles ( même pas de vis) évidemment pas recommande sur le mode d'emploi résultat j'ai trouve le résultat un peu plus gazeux que sodastream , on voit plus les bulles j'ai l'impression qu il y a moins d'eau par bouteille (??) et que le sirop me semblait un peu trop sucre j'ai diminue un peu les doses de sirop conclusion bonne machine plus chere que sodastream

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Am i missing something or is this a $200 sodastream? that's a lot to pay for looks.**
A: You're not missing anything. I wouldn't mind spending that for a high-quality device, but the on the one I bought (and returned), the finish was sub par (covered in fine scratches), and the device itself was disappointing. Very thin metal over too much plastic.

**Q: How well does the bottle hold the carbonation. I have a SodaStream and the glass bottles lose fizz very quickly.**
A: They all hold the same. A couple quick tips to hold carbonation. Chill water first, then carbonate. Don't use room temp. water and then chill and use as little ice as possible. The ice melts and dilutes it. Using room temp. water with ice is a double wack on the carbonation. Also, as with champagne glasses, make sure the container and the glass are free of soap. In nice restaurants and tasting rooms, hot water is used to clean champagne glasses, not soap.  Also, very pure water will be less carbonated. It turns out that the cleaner the water, the less material carbon dioxide has to hold on to. Hence, if you take out all the minerals, it's hard to have fizz.

**Q: Can I buy glass bottles for this machine?**
A: Based on this previous answer, I bought the glass soda stream bottle and it does NOT fit the Aarke.  I'm pretty disappointed as this was a factor in purchasing this machine.

**Q: Can this be used to make soda with flavoring as well?**
A: Yes, same as soda stream. Adding the flavor has nothing to do with the machine.  My kids add Torani flavors for an "Italian Soda" all the time. Its added AFTER you carbonate the water and TO the already carbonated water. NEVER add it first. You will do that once and never make that mistake again. Very messy.

I don't like having anything on show on my worktop but if I do, I needs to be stylish (and preferably gold haha). Lovely shade of gold/brass, sturdy and easy to use. Used to have the plastic one by the leading brand but this is a class apart. Fits the same cannisters as a standard machine so no issues getting refills from Argos. Wish they did bottles with gold tops (not silver). Something to think about...😉
