Review: Fantastic blanket - Great value for money (especially if you can snatch it up during a sale like I did!) I sleep with the blanket on top of my thin duvet, and the only reason why I’m warmer than normal, is because the weighted blanket tucks the duvet around you with its weight. Particularly helpful if you move a lot and untuck your duvet a lot, getting cold air in. None of that has happened since I got it! It looks great and the stitching quality is nice, super soft even without an extra cover.

Great value for money (especially if you can snatch it up during a sale like I did!) The 9kg blanket is heavier than you’d anticipate, especially is 9kg is over 10% of your body weight (the ballpark figure of what you should go for in a weighted blanket). The blanket is ready to use out of packaging, but I put a cotton duvet cover on it for comfort. I was worried about being hot under it but that is certainly not the case for me. It’s heavy but breathable. I sleep with the blanket on top of my thin duvet, and the only reason why I’m warmer than normal, is because the weighted blanket tucks the duvet around you with its weight. Particularly helpful if you move a lot and untuck your duvet a lot, getting cold air in. None of that has happened since I got it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Why did I wait so long to buy this?

I had read about weighted blankets over a year ago and understood the theory: deep pressure inducing an oxytocin release. But I prevaricated in buying one. After all, it is expensive for a blanket, and what if it didn't work? But after getting a very generous gift voucher for my birthday I decided to take the plunge. I went for the 9kg because I'm not a small woman. And oh my merciful heavens, it is the best investment I've ever made. The blanket is soft and sits exactly on top of the bed, so it doesn't slide off in the middle of the night. A few nights it's been too warm under the blanket and duvet, but I've just slept on top of the duvet and under the blanket so it's no great inconvenience. I have never slept so well in my adult life! The pressure is so comforting, I'm falling asleep quickly instead of lying awake into the small hours. It feels like when you stayed at your nan's when you were a kid and slept tucked up under the heavy blankets; that feeling of being safe, warm and loved. If you are thinking of getting one I'd say go for it! I love my blanket so much I want to take it on holiday with me (will leave us 6kg including suitcase for clothes for the two of us; that's enough, right?!).
