The damask fabric.I have searched through all the Amazon dog furniture and bedding for weeks using different devices and on every device the design always looked tan to me. My living room is in browns and tans with accents of yellow and rust. No blue! I really, really do not like blue! I dislike blue! I would never, ever order a dog bed that is blue or has any blue in the design.We were so excited to open the box...and I see blue intertwined with the tan design! Ugh! My heart sunk! Returns are such a hassle! I thought I could ignore it, but it was gnawing at me.The minute my Chihuahua touched the damask material he stepped back. He did not seem to like the feel of the damask at all. I also realized this fabric will get snagged by dog nails very easily. I can't imagine the fabric looking very nice for long.We had to turn the thin memory foam, egg crate, cushion upside down because he was stepping weird and just wanted to get off. Then we put a blanket over the damask and he actually liked the couch/bed.I was really torn. Amazon was out of stock of the plain brown bed. I felt bad yanking this awesome furniture away from my Chihuahua and making him wait 7-10 weeks for a replacement. The whole reason I bought the bed is because he is getting older and his favorite chair to sleep in is getting too high to jump in and out of. This couch/bed is off the ground where it is cold, high enough for him to still feel like he is up on furniture, but also low enough so he is not jumping up and down and possibly getting hurt.The only compromise was the one Wayfair sells on Amazon. The brand says Enchanted Home Pet, but it is the exact frame as this couch. The differences, EHP appears to be an espresso brown faux leather material, the inside is lined in what looks like a soft, microfiber type, brown material, and the much thicker cushion is a plaid, removable, washable cover. It comes with one throw pillow rather than 3. No throw rug, but honestly, that bone shaped throw rug is really slippery on wood floors and does not look like a professional sewed it. I would not have used it. The little throw pillows were very cheap as well. The measurements of the two pieces of furniture are just inches apart. I could order the Enchanted Home Pet Bed right away and start it on its way, or wait 7-10 weeks???I went ahead and returned this bed and ordered the other. Luckily it was also on Prime. It is listed for $10.00 more. But it is worth it to me.I did order the medium bed for my 4-5 pound Chihuahua because my kids pointed out that he does like to stretch out sometimes. Usually he balls up with a cuddly blanket. Seeing him on the medium, I think we could have purchased the small (which was also out of stock!) And he would have fit and been quite comfortable. But the medium is not too large. Just personal preference.I checked this bed all over and it does feel sturdy. I was looking for the wood slat, or bar, that some reviews talk about being uncomfortable, but I could not feel that. Maybe it was larger beds? Other than the damask, the chocolate brown fabric was very soft and snuggly. If Amazon has the color and size you need, it really is a great purchase. The reason I am giving it 4 stars is because the "memory foam" cushion that comes in it isn't what I would call memory foam or cushion. The problem was easily fixed when I purchased a 20" x 30" chocolate dog bed from Amazon and put it inside (search Furhaven Deluxe Orthopedic Mattress Pet Bed for Dogs and Cats in size Medium or any 20" x 30" bed). My dogs love it. I have a mutt who weighs 35lbs and uses it predominantly. My other dog is an Australian Shepherd that weighs about 65lbs. She is older and not an active dog and the bed holds her weight just fine. If you have a dog over 40 pounds who likes to run and jump into bed then this is not the sofa for you. The sofa itself looks great and my dogs like that it has a back and a side for them to lean on! I am attaching photos of both of my dogs in it (note the cushion they are on did NOT come with this sofa but the one that did is under it as well as the blanket it came with). If money is an issue this is a great bed even with having to buy the extra cushion. if money is not an issue I would look at one of the other dog sofas out there with more cushion. As a side note I would also like to say that I love this bed because you can wipe it off. So I have had this pet bed for a minimum of 8 + years!!! I used an egg crate foam sheet to re-stuff the leopard pillows & resew pillow seams because of rough mutts lol! The bed itself is difficult to unzip To separate liner & foam bed ... it's easier to wash together, unseparated, on delicate & lay out to dry.
