It works and will help you to light a fire. I cannot give it full stars due to a couple of concerns that I have with it. 1. It is a little heavy on the wax or whatever other chemicals the rope may be impregnated with. I personally would like to see it with a little less. 2. It does not fray and fluff as easily as most waxed rope I have used. Again, I think this is due to a little bit too much wax. You can get it all frayed apart, but it takes a bit. If you are going to try and make a tinder bundle/nest out of it, and try to light it with some charcloth or some that has a very small ember in it, it is very difficult to get going. That being said, if you are using a ferro rod, it light up instantly from one stroke of a 6" rod. The frayed end caught fire and burned well. It did put off a lot of black soot/smoke while burning, again probably from having a little bit too much wax.
