Just cut off the old band, clean the slingshot with alcohol to remove any residue, dip the slingshot arm in the alcohol (not the band!), and slide on. Compared to the old band the new ammo pouch is 2/3 its size and is made of a very stiff leather. The old pouch allowed me to completely surround the shot providing a better grip and more secure pull which helped accuracy. The new pouch feels less secure and instead of gripping soft leather the grip is on brass grommets.
