Review: I have been reading Karen Katz books to my daughter ever since our "Pat the Bunny" book bit the dust when she was only 4 months old (the binding was just too flimsy!) My daughter is now 13 months and I can safely say that Karen Katz lift-the-flap books are THE BEST choice for active/spirited babies and toddlers. Unlike other children's books, they are *very* sturdy, colorful, and teach children fine motor skills, as well as racial differences (African American, Asian babies are featured in the "Where is Baby's Belly Button" book). My daughter rips and pulls at the flaps on these books in her glee of me reading them to her...and, although they are very folded and crinkled up, all of the flaps are still in tact!! I also like Counting Kisses and Daddy Hugs, but I'd suggest buying the lift-the flap books like this set because they are so much more entertaining and hold the child's attention better. As a follow on to this set, I'd suggest the Grandma, Grandpa and Daddy lift-the-flap books, my daughter loves the Daddy one even though it's geared toward a little boy.
