Review: Nice mouse, included AAA batteries exploded within 4 weeks. Use your own lithium batteries - Update: I was able to get a replacement mouse, I will not be using the included batteries this time! It's a great mouse otherwise. I have been really happy with both SteelSeries mouses that I have used, both this Rival and also the Prime. I picked the Rival for wireless due to the dual mode choice of either using bluetooth OR the included dongle. The wireless version of the Prime seemed to only have the dongle option. I pair the bluetooth to my laptop and plug the dongle into my desktop for quick and easy switching. Original review: I was really liking this mouse, the dual wireless modes were great. One day I went to use it and it didn't work. I normally ONLY use high end lithium batteries since old fashioned alkaline batteries always explode or leak. I had used the included batteries in a pinch and sure enough, they had exploded, ruining the mouse. Don't use the included batteries.
Review: Comfortable mouse - I used a very small mouse before getting this mouse. It's definitely a big improvement, I don't feel any pain even after being on my computer for multiple hours. I only have 2 problems. One is the connection, it goes to sleep, and you have to click a button for it to wake up, and it takes a few seconds to do so, it doesn't sound bad but it does get annoying with misclicks and trying to find your pointer if you have multiple screens. The second problem is the battery, if you don't turn on the battery-saving mode with the app, the mouse will only last you a little less than a month.

**Q: Does this mouse auto-install an intrusive software suite or need the user to constantly be logged into an account, like Razer requires?**
A: Alright. Comprehensive answer time.
When it was initially released, it had a software suite that you needed to download to use all the fancy lighting options.
IT DOES NOT REQUIRE THIS TO FUNCTION as a mouse. You don't need to install any intrusive or annoying software. In fact, on many computers, the software has been upgraded to the point where you might not even be able to find a version that is still supported. Depending on how new your computer is, you might not need/want to install it anyway. It works as a good mouse and you can slave the buttons out just like any other human interface device from your system control panels.
If you WANT the suite, and your computer supports it, it's an easy download and the only intrusive things that will be installed are the ONES YOU CHOOSE TO INSTALL during the install... click a button, get a result. That's on you. But as far as annoying, memory hog, spyware and the like: no... you can do that if you want to by going looking for them, but those aren't required.

I'm literally using this mouse right now with nothing installed beyond the drivers that windows used to recognize it as a mouse. Works great. Only thing I can't do is have the LEDs stick on one color since I don't use the suite. Upside, the LEDs are there for show in the first place so the rainbow cycling isn't a fundamental issue.

**Q: Will this work on ps5?**
A: Yes

**Q: It feels fine to aim, but turning around fast and movement while looking like turning sharp corners feels really off. Suggestions?**
A: Most likely had angle enabled. Download the steel series software. And disable it. Also recommend disabling windows mouse acceleration aka precision. You want raw Input as a beginner to pc gaming.

**Q: If I have it plugged into my computer, will I need to replace batteries for the rgb?**

I'm not a gamer but I appreciate gamer mice for their responsiveness and configurability. I use this mouse with Windows at work and Mac at home. The positives: * I love that there is an onboard slot for stowing the 2.4 Ghz adapter. That makes it easier to travel with. * The mouse is responsive compared to my Logitech MX Master 3S. * The mouse is big enough to not make my hand cramp. * The mouse is inexpensive. The negative: The vendor’s instructions for Mac users are poor. You must connect the mouse via 2.4 GHz for the GG software to detect it. It doesn’t work via Bluetooth. Overall: I wanted was a cheap, quality, wireless mouse for office work and that's what I got.
