## Description

Our D.O.T. reflective glass beads are used to create reflective markings for roads, highways, streets, curbs, concrete, parking lots, airports, driveways, pavement marking tape and more. These glass beads can either be applied to freshly painted surfaces or it can be used with a line striping dispenser to be applied with the paint. These beads can be applied to water based paint, oil based paint, alkyd coatings, hydrocarbon thermoplastic, methylmethacrylate, and epoxies . Simply sprinkle the glass beads over the paint or coating while wet. Or follow the instructions on your pavement marking equipment. Let dry completely before use. I did, but it was a little windy and the paint dried faster than I anticipated. So when I did the second set of numbers, I modified the application. Very, very easy to apply. I simply used a plastic spoon and dusted it onto the wet paint. Move quickly so that it’s applied while the paint is at its wettest. Good results. Slight pressure using the back of the spoon may help it to stick. Good amount is in the bag, so I have plenty left over for the next project. I would definitely repurchase this item!

**Q: When do you use reflective glass beads instead of reflective glass powder?**
A: Larger beads equal a wider angle of retro reflection. Smaller beads the opposite. Smaller beads especially high index are the best for signs and curb marking. Larger beads better for pavement and streets. In Crafts and art projects size affects texture…

**Q: could you mix this into a clear resin (not just surface applied) so that it might act as a light diffuser?**
A: I don’t think so. Read that you should not mix into something you’ll lose the reflective property.

**Q: One pound bag for $15.65, and 2 one pound bags (two pounds) for $83.20?**
A: Looks like someone is selling the same-ish product…for a lot more

**Q: how do you apply to vertical surface?**
A: I’m thinking you could apply beads to packing tape or something similar and then apply to vertical surface. Possibly after paint racks up a bit. Leave till paint is completely dry and possibly cured. You will have a learning curve but you could even practice with cheap beads first that or other similar medium.
