## Description

Measure Camber and Caster at the track or in your garage. Camber measurements accurate to within 0.1 degrees. Measures Caster WITHOUT the need for expensive turn plates. Digital readout can be calibrated for non-level surfaces in a matter of seconds. Fits 12"-20" wheels

Review: REALLY easy to use, repeatable results, nothing else needed - Nicely made, clever design, the "built in turn plate functionality" is brilliantly simple, makes measuring caster very easy. You really do not need turn plates. This is one of those tools that looks a whole lot like competing tools, but once you actually use it the differences become clear and it's worth the extra bucks. I didn't find the "hands-free" aspect to be necessary -- for any similar tool design it's only going to be helpful if you can actually adjust camber with the wheel on the car and the car on the ground -- but this tool is designed to be hand-held _or_ to attach, and it's so easy to use hand-held that there are no point off for this. Again this is a case of "once you use it you'll see...". If you want to be absolutely sure you're placing the tool in exactly the same place on the wheel each time, one small piece of blue tape to mark where the top pad should touch the rim and you're done. Mostly even this isn't important (I didn't understand this until I actually used the tool). Because of the design and the electronic gauge, the floor only needs to be reasonably flat (so it's not tweaking how the car sits), but not perfectly level. This tool is bulky, and although it looks like it might be collapsible, in reality it's not. So it's bulky to store. As with the 1100p toe plates I felt the need to spend 5 minutes with a deburring wheel, but that's mostly my OCD. If $$ or storage space are a concern (and you don't already have a set of toe plates), I'd consider the 3300p combination camber/caster/toe plates. They also have the "turn plate"/wheel angle feature, and based on using this tool and the 1100p toe plates I'd expect the 3300p to be very nearly as easy to use as this tool and (with some care) equally accurate. The big difference is that when measuring caster/camber with the 3300p you need to take care that you're holding the tool perpendicular to the wheel face as well as vertical or horizontal. With this tool's three contact points you're automatically aligned to the wheel face.
Review: Accurate and educational - It's awesome buy it now. Notice the pics make it look like it is free standing or can stand on it's own but it actually can't. Would be nice if it could so you could zero the digital gauge while it stands level. The other version of this product and i think this one as well tells you to zero the digital gauge on a long piece of metal that they don't provide, but it's not really clear where you should place this metal. Behind tire? In front? On sides? I know gauge must be zeroed in the same direction you plan to use it. No matter which version of the product you're using, the way you zero the gauge should be the same or one way should be better. Either way, i was easily able to get accurate and repeatable camber measurements, i never adjusted caster as my car doesn't. The only thing that will throw you off is you're not on the most level part of your floor and measure there every time or at least at a part you know is level. Use your big level from home or hardware store and find the levelest area. You may not have slip plates so you measure, adjust, roll car to and fro to settle suspension, re-zero gauge, then remeasure. Do all that on the levelest area of your smoothest floor.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can this check toe? Which tool is best for camber and toe?**
A: No this can not check toe. But product 3300 can check camber, toe and caster. https://www.amazon.com/Tenhulzen-3300-2-Wheel-Alignment-System/dp/B00PKI0YSU/

**Q: How can you claim it doesn't need turn plates?**
A: For caster measurement, turn plates are used to get the correct sweep angle to be able to measure and calculate caster. This product has the required angle built in to the gauge frame itself. While it might take a minute or two more than using turn plates, for people who aren't measuring caster every single day this is a great trade off to spending +$200 on a set of turn plates.
Additionally, most turn plates aren't even accurate (excluding the true professional ones). A tire does not pivot directly about it's center, it has a scrub radius. This means when you turn on turn plates the tire is actually scrubbing/spinning some, which affects the reading.

**Q: Can someone please explain the 'built-in' turn plate function?**
A: It is hard to explain in just text. The instructions are detailed step by step with pictures. Essentially the gauge has the turn angle as part of its frame, so you use that to turn the wheels to the proper angle for caster measurement, instead of needing turn plates to tell you what angle you are turning the wheels

**Q: How do you adjust it for different wheel sizes?**
A: The frame is slotted, so all you do is rotate the upper contact point to loosen it, move it where you want, and turn it again to tighten.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Super easy to use and very accurate!
*by Z***8 on April 13, 2019*

After setting my alignment with this device I went to a local shop with a calibrated Hunter alignment rack and for $25 they will throw it on and give me a printout. The camber values were spot on with the alignment rack! The caster not so much but I am not surprised given that measurement is hard to do accurately without decent turn plates so... I have no caster adjustment anyway so this is really good for setting camber, and for that it is very easy and accurate. So if you also want to set caster, you will want a good set of turn plates, then it should work well for that also.
