As long as there has been a month since other treatments on your hair were used this Normal Perm should be fine. As I said I have used this exact perm on my hair and Olgilvie is a pro when it comes to home perms and when you follow the instructions exactly the perms turn out great. **Q: How often is it safe to use this? Like how long do people go inbetween perms usually ?** A: It depends. If you have short hair, your hair grows a half inch a month so if you cut the perm off you cam probably perm every 3 months. I have below shoulder length hair so I perm about every 9-12 months. Just remember perm over permed hair will be dry and crunchy. Gauge your own hair, but this perm is the best I have found. **Q: Is there a Smell** A: It is a strong ammonia smell - make sure you cover your nose and mouth when using.
