## Description

CRC dry graphite lube is a dry film lubricant that is ideal for applications where petroleum products must be avoided. Dry graphite lube bonds instantly to metal, rubber, plastic and most substrates to form a dirt repelling barrier that lubricates and protects the surface from pressure and friction. Withstands temperatures up to 850 degrees F and extreme pressures, as well as water and chemical attack. Contains no known ozone depleting chemicals. Offers effective performance while complying with the EPA regulations on the use of ozone depleting chemicals. Recommended as a general maintenance lubricant on gaskets, transfer belts and conveyor belts; as an assembly lube on motors, plant machinery and handling equipment; and as a general lubricant for high temperature, low load, or high rpm slides, rollers, wheels, gears, chains and hoists.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: As the coating wears does it flake off? Or does it come off in a powder? How does it seem to hold up to sliding friction?**
A: I worked as a building Mechanic/Handy Man. ever time I use any FORM of graphite kit was an amassing. NO SQUEAKS, GROANS. or ANY FORM OF METAL TO METAL CONTACT. KI am amazed that the LIQUID GRAPHITE or ANY FORM OF GRAPHITE HAS NOT CAUGHT ON. LIQUID GRAPHITE can be used ANY WHERE WD 40 IS USED. FROM GUNS TO DOORS TO BICYCLE OR MOTORCYCLE CHAINS. THE SINGLE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS IF YOU PUT IT ON IT AINT COMING OFF!!!!!!!!!!

**Q: can you spray this under your riding mower to keep grass from building up?**
A: I have not tried that application, but having used the product, it is really a great dry lubricant as opposed to a release agent. Also, it does "wear off," so I would think the "abrasive" action of the grass clippings would still work toward build up. But what have you got to lose? If it doesn't work under the mower, there are lots of other places it really shines.Mike

**Q: Can you spray it into a lock on a car door?**
A: Well, you could hold the lock insertion port open with a toothpick and get a small amount inside and make a mess of the rest of the door...the aerosol tip is not equipped to utilize the slender tube you find on a can of carb cleaner, so the short answer is no. I also use the small tube of dry graphite available at auto parts stores- snip the tip, insert, give a little squeeze, and voila.

**Q: The title states that it is a black grease, just wanted to confirm that this sprays on as a black grease?**
A: It's not technically a grease...it's not thick and oily. It's a really thin lubricant. Yes, it sprays on and dries black.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is more like paint than oil.
*by R***S on 7 October 2013*

This product applies like a spray paint, and is best used on a surface that is accessable, like a gear face. It is not designed to enter cracks and crevices like a spray on oil. The graphite film dries hard and very fast and does not come off easily, I tried to remove the overspray with carburator cleaner and it would not come off. I used it to lubricate the steering gear of a riding lawnmower that had open access to the gears and access to the sliding parts. It is not good for lubricating surfaces that need a long time to penetrate, like a ball joint or the interior of a bicycle chain. It dries much to fast to penetrate that type of mechanism. So if you can access the surface you need lubricated, it is perfect. If you need a WD40 type lubricant that will penetrate, this product will not work well. I also used it on the rubber grommets that hold the sway bar on my car, they were squeeking. But I had to unbolt the grommet and spray the inside of the grommet and the sway bar to make it work (it completely stopped the squeeking). Without disassembly the graphite spray did not work, it dried before it could lubricate the grommet. So again, if you can get to the surfaces that will make contact, this product will apply like a paint and do a great job. If you cannot access the surfaces, use a general purpose oil, penetrating oil, or WD40.
