Review: This case is the best computer bag I have ever had, and it had an unexpected surprise after an initial disappointment. I travel extensively and I put a beating on these types of bags. I bought this one two months ago, and I absolutely love it. I accepted it with a little misgiving at first. I have a large 17" laptop, in a synthetic butyl rubber sleeve. The separate bag that comes with this case will not accept such a machine, and at first I was disappointed. However, I quickly realized that not only is the separate bag not advertised as being able to take a 17" machine (it fits a 15" machine perfectly), that same bag is IDEAL and seems tailor-made for my projector, with pockets for cables and the remote. The 17" laptop (even in a sleeve) fits easily into the middle pocket of the main case just ahead of the handle (it will NOT fit in the back pocket behind the handle but a 15" laptop would). The separate bag fits over the extended handle using the provided strap, and the two bags put together like that roll perfectly secure, with all bumps absorbed. Nice thick material, metal zippers, decorative yet sturdy metal zipper handles. Heavy seams. The telescoping handle is robust and smooth. When you open all the zipper pockets all the way with the handle all the way extended at the same time, the bag just lays out the pockets on the floor, instead of falling toward you and bopping you on the head with the extended handle, a particular characteristic that has caused me to dramatically shorten the life of certain cases. You will not be disappointed with this case, no matter what equipment you have. I can't think of what else I would ask in a case of this type - if you need more, you need to start looking at the upright type of rolling case. UPDATE FROM 2017, January I am still using this same case, 3 to 4 years later. No wheels or zippers have malfunctioned. Nothing unraveled. Dirty now, from midwest winter travel, wheels have a flatspot or two, but still going absolutely strong. You should buy no other wheeled case of this size.

**Q: Is this bag waterproof?**
A: well...in heavy FL rainstorms it has not had problems zippers closed of course. But, through a deep puddle and it got some moisture in through zippers. Mine is often outside of the umbrella coverage and I really do not worry about it. Don't take it swimming....lol

**Q: Does the small zippered pocket at the front have enough space for an iPad?**
A: Hi James,  I have loaded my patriot with two laptops and an iPad.  An iPad will fit in the front zippered compartment but not the top front zippered pocket.

**Q: So I am confused... does it or doesn't it fit under the seat in front of you on an airplane?**
A: The bag itself fits nicely anywhere. The bag with a laptop will fit nicely anywhere. Add a portable printer or a 3" binder and you space starts to get limited. With either, the bag will fit nicely mostly anywhere with some pressure needed under the seat and maybe would need to be placed sideways. In my experience, while flying with a 15" laptop, a 4" binder, lots of stuff in the 1st compartment and a portable printer, it fits nicely in the overhead bin of everything down to an Embraer E170/190. Will all the contents mentioned above, it does not fit under the seat of any plane or on the Overhead Bin of the the Canadair CRJ700/900 or the Embaer 145. I would imagine the same is true for ATR/Dash/Saabs. Hopes this helps somewhat.

**Q: Does this case have a loop or strap to allow it to be attached to a larger bag, i.e., the handle?**
A: The only thing like that is a strap across the back about 2 inches below the top and about 2 inches wide. I use it to hold it on to the backrest of my motorcycle in the passenger position while I attach the bungie cords. The only easy solution for what I think you are trying to do is in fact the handle.
