Totally spill proof when closed.Easy to clean - I fill with soapy water and pour it out, which cleans out the rim and seal quickly and efficiently (I don't have a dishwasher).Cons :Poor insulation - If you want to keep your drink piping hot, this not the mug for you. I have a half hour commute and my morning coffee is warm to cool by the end of the journeyI wanted something spill-proof that could fit in the cupholder for my morning drive, so I don't mind the lack of insulation.
