The thermostat is simple by design and is only used for milivolt systems, I believe 750MV and lower but most systems would be 750MV. The only thing I didn't like about it was the temperature indicators are not real accurate. As far as compliance you would have to ask the Honeywell Company. If that is really important to you call them, they will be more then happy to speak with you. Now, it's starting to get cold again this year and guess what, this thermostat doesn't work!The product only last one year due to the contacts having too high a resistance for a 750mV system to function correctly. Some say the contacts are bi-metal which causes bimetallic corrosion thus causing a thermostat to fail intentionally!
