I really enjoyed it as it had good hold and wasn’t greasy. However I didn’t order it again, because it had a strong liquorice smell and the grit easily got under my short nails. I’ve now ordered it again in 2021 and the product has gone from good to great!!! There is no longer a liquorice smell and the wax has more a neutral tea/peppermint smell. It still has very good hold for shaping a beard (though it’s more a balm with wax and hold, as opposed to having the strength of a pure wax), and thankfully Honest Amish has solved the grit under the nails issue! I have Afro hair and would 100% recommend this product. It is dark in texture so may work better with darker coloured hair, however it does dissolve well into the beard. I liked it back then, but I’m a true fan now. Safe to say I’ll be sticking with this product for the foreseeable future. Review: Excelente opción para mantener la barba en su lugar. Is there any reason for it, aside from the fact that grit is awesome?** A: The grit in the wax gives the beard hairs something more to hold on to. Just like you rough up a surface to apply glue. **Q: what's the difference between the wax and the balm??** A: The wax is good for shaping the beard where the balm is good for conditioning the beard. I used the balm as I grew mine out to keep it healthy as I achieved the desired length. There was a notable benefit to color and health of the hair. Once the desired length, I began using the wax to shape my beard/mustache to desired form. **Q: What ingredient is used to make it extra grit? I don't think so any natural substances can give extra grit to beard.** A: Wild Cherry Bark and Black Walnut Hulls. This gives it the color and gritty feel. Thanks for the question and have a great day! **Q: I'm full gray, will this darken my hair?** A: I have found that the oil does darken it a bit. But it doesn't last unless you use it every day. I have not used the beard wax yet. But the beard balm does a little coloring as well. But if you use both you don't notice much increase over just the oil. The slight color is one reason I keep using Honest Amish over other brands. My beard is completely white.
