Your doorknob may be loose. If so, do whatever it takes to fix the doorknob. The angle of the device's post to the floor may be too steep. If so, I recommend you change its length and thereby change the angle to get the skid foot a little farther away from the door. The skid foot of the device may be sliding. If so, give it a surface that let's it bite better. Because of that, the door has actually fallen inward twice, which obviously made me uneasy about security, among other things. While I decide whether to repair or fully replace the door, I bought this security bar as a temporary and economical solution, and it has been perfect for that. It installs in seconds and feels very sturdy once it’s in place. Now the door physically cannot fall inward, which gives me peace of mind when I’m home and especially when I’m away. It has also been extremely windy the past few days, and honestly if I hadn’t had this bar in place I probably would have been in panic mode worrying about the door blowing open or shifting again. I also like that it’s adjustable and doesn’t require any drilling or permanent installation. It comes with a second bar that can be placed in the track for added security to prevent the door from sliding open, which I haven’t needed to use yet. Overall, it’s economical, simple, adjustable, and easy to use. If you have a sliding door that doesn’t feel secure or has alignment issues like mine, this is a very simple and effective fix.
