Would the water near the sink bother it?** A: It is a fine product but not right for this application if food prep will occur on the counter. Osmo makes a product called Top Oil that has the same properties but is food grade rated. **Q: I previously used 3043 but need some more product. Will the 3054 give me the same finish?** A: I believe so. From what I understand, the 3043 is just the UK version of the 3054. U.S. has the 3054 for satin. I’m using it currently and it performs perfectly. **Q: Has anyone tried wetsanding using the polyx or maybe wetsanding first with the top oil and then several coats of polyx?** A: There are may ways to finish using OSMO, wet sanding is usually not necessary but can depend on your wood species. Polyx and top oll produces the same finish, just Tops oil is food grade so no reason to use both on the same project. Actually need to know what you sanded to prior to applying any first coat and the wood species. Maybe it's me. I need to reread the micro print on the can. I think I put it on too thick as it felt a little sticky the next day. Or I didn't wait long enough.
