Review: There was a time one Summer ago, my backyard was infested with so many Mosquitos. They were swarming around due to the damp spots on some places where it loves to live and hide. It made it really difficult for me to enjoy the outdoors because of this. I always get bitten by many of them. I started buying one of the Flowtron Mosquito lamps for outdoors and place in under my awning and turn it on during the night time. I hear zaps constantly, letting me know that this is working, and it sure did. However, there was a point in time, where it had had less zaps than before, and I knew I had to buy replacement cartridges. It is where the Flowtron MA-1000 Octenol Mosquito Attractant Cartridges had made it possible to replenish the attraction of the mosquito to the lamp and before you know it, zap them. These cartridges saved me from getting bitten many times. There are times that I do inevitably still get bitten by them, but nowhere near as much as I had when the Flowtron wasn't around. These are direct replacements of the Mosquito lamp and they work a good amount of time. Lifespan of it varies depending on environment and the placement of the lamp. To hear the satisfying zap one by one just makes me feel at ease that these mosquitos will not stand a chance. Cleaning the Flowtron, is another story. Just because you zap them, their "leftovers" are plastered and stuck onto the lamp, and you have to occasionally you have to clean them or else the attractant will not reach far enough to attract the mosquitoes and the zap wouldn't be efficient.

**Q: How do you install this? Does it work in any light?**
A: I just purchased a 6-pkof thee with a new Dynatrap 3/4 acra bug trap. where shall I install and how do I install this on my Dynatrap for best results?Thanks !!!

**Q: People say this works for 30 days or longer, but the package says, "For best results, change every 100 hours". What is the real story?**
A: That's what it said on the package of mosquito attractant that came with my Flowtron bug zapper, but these refills last much longer (4.5x longer or 450 hours). They are not the same as the cartridges that are included with the zapper.

**Q: how often do you change it**
A: About every 30 days but sometimes I let it go longer. Depends on it I am getting a good amount of insects.

**Q: I have some unopened octenol cartridges from last year, are they still good? what is the unopened shelf life?**
A: Just doing some simple math here. One of these lasts for about 3 months in use (1/4 of a year). This means that you would use about 4 in a year (Less if you experience winter). They sell these in 6 packs, and they are only good for a year unopened. Doesn't this mean you're throwing 2 or more of these away every year? Scratching my head over here.

It’s always so upsetting to me how every summer since I purchased my zappers , (which one is supposed to cover over an acre and I have two in my court yard ) I spend so much money on the cartridges and I still get eaten alive . Sometimes they attract more bugs that deterring the problem such as Beatles . I find the cartridges on the ground ruined unless I use my own adhesive tape , and they just should be so much better for the hassle and the price . I feel terrible when the geckos get murdered violently by these contraptions, I wish it was the mosquitos . Living in Florida it’s such a terrible problem ,but different times of night and weather have made me think they work sometimes , but seeing the pattern it’s just that ... based on rain and different temperatures rather then the product .I am going to do a major clean on the zappers use brand new cartridges one more time and if anything changes , you will be the first ones to know , but unfortunately this won’t be the first time so I’m not expecting a miracle, although what I wouldn’t do for one . Mosquitos are the worst !
