Im in a city so there is alot of interference. I was even having a hard time hitting a repeater 5 miles away and its mounted high. Base station hits it with no issue. In the woods this thing is great upstate ny 5-8 miles with no issues and the standard antenna. I needed a solution.I purchased a dual band magnetic roof antenna.I have a baofeng UV5RA handheld. Anyone who has a Baofeng or Woxun knows the odd connector they use compared to just about everyone else. I can hit the repeater and my friends at some serious distance now. It was a great Price with excellent construction. In short, it's a very technically sound cable that gets the signal from my rooftop mobile antenna to my HT.My only real complaint is that, while it doesn't specifically say the radio end is a swivel connection, I expected it to be, so buyer beware.
