After carrying the pen in my pocket using the clip, the nib will dry out and nothing will induce it to write except leaving it on a flat surface for as long as it takes. I suggest you inquire online with Goulet Pen. The pen is truly splendid, overall. **Q: Does this 'stub' nib create a wider line than a 'broad' nib? A reviewer said 1.1 - my writing looks nicer with a broad nib. I won't consider Ns or Ms.** A: This stub nib is 1.1 mm wide on the down stroke and quite fine on the side stroke. So the down stroke is going to be as thick or thicker than a regular broad. The whole point of getting a stub is to get a ribbon like effect as you write where the line varies as you go. Check out the YouTube channel "Goulet pen company" and see their stub video examples for some visuals of what can be achieved with a stub.
