Her mother had one, and when she moved from one apartment to another, we were amazed at its power and how well it did, so we bought one. We have a 4 bedroom, 3 bath ranch style home. We use it primarily on the main level, and left the old one down in the finished basement. Most of the time, we can vac all of the upstairs without having to dump the bowl. Maybe we should dump more often, but it doesn't seem to make any difference, that I can tell. She takes care of the foam filter, so I can't say much about that, but it doesn't take very long to clean it. We had a dog, and this was great to help with the shedding of his hair. Unfortunately, we had to put him down after he turned 16. The Grandchildren help in keeping us busy, and the Shark Rocket is still very helpful ;).
