Review: Great bike - I am so happy I chose this over the the more expensive peloton or the less expensive echelon. Although I don't have the echelon (ex 15) their price doubled over the holiday and is now almost the same price as the ic4. So why would we even consider the ex 15 anymore. The ic4 have been great. Assembly was simple. I did it all by myself and it was easy breezy. The quality is great and it is truly silent. I read people complained about the handlebars not moving towards you enough and I agree. I wish I could pull it towards me a bit more since I'm really short but I know other bikes dont even have 4 way adjustment. The bike looks great and feels sturdy. I've ridden off the saddle and and clipped in and I feel good about it. The saddle is fine and I know people complain how it's not soft enough. Spin bike saddle is not supposed to be squishy. It should be supportive which it is and when you're doing spin classes you'd be leaning forward a little anyways. It's not supposed to be like a cruiser saddle. There are a few things I wish were different but I think these are more so preference rather than an issue. I wish the tablet holder was more upright or adjustable. I find my tablet sits on funny angle and if it was more upright there would be less glare. I wish the strap on the hr monitor was less scratchy. I'm only complaining becasue I have a better hr monitor to compare to. If I didn't I probably wouldn't think much about it. Lastly I actually think it better to have the weights behind the saddle rather than under the handlebars. I feel it's more natural to sit up and then pick up the weights rather than grab the weights then sit up. Love it so far and look forward to enjoying this for years. Anybody had this happen?** A: I have a pair of IC4 bikes and this happened on the right side of my bike on day 3 of use. Ended up completely ripping out the threads inside my right crank arm. I also heard unusual noises. For those of you who can’t figure out how to remove the crank arm, you need a screwdriver, 5/8 socket, 3/4 socket, a rubber mallet, and possibly a vice grip. Pop the plastic cap that covers the spindle with a flathead screwdriver. Remove the nut with a 5/8 socket. Thread in the crank puller, tighten the bolt, and reef on it with a 3/4 socket until the crank arm comes out. Put the new arm on, tap with rubber mallet if necessary, and use your 5/8 socket when replacing the nut. Make sure it’s secure. My experience is that the pedals are coming too loose with regular use. I tighten them after every use because I believe Schwinn/Nautilus has a manufacturing problem they are solving with copious spare parts. **Q: what is the highest inseam (seat to pedal?)** A: The lowest seat height is 28” from the seat to the pedal at it’s lowest position. It’s says it fits riders that are 4’-6”. It doesn’t. My wife is 4’-9” and her leg was straight. No bend at all. **Q: Can the tablet holder for the ic4 handle an iPad Pro 12.9"?** A: Yes it does. It sits on a heavy rack that works for most devices. I like it just fine but do wish it was adjustable- just a nice to have and in no way takes away from the function for me. I love this bike. I use explore the world which has a yearly subscription which is SO much less than Most. You can use the Peloton digital subscription for about 12/month - it links to the bike. **Q: Is there a way to switch the distance read out to miles instead if kilometers?** A: To switch units between kilometers and miles before a workout, push the Increase and Decrease buttons together and hold for 3 seconds. Push an Increase/Decrease button to change the units (KM or MI). Great quality and definitely worth it! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent so far. Here is a tip.... and an update.... *by R***E on 16 May 2023* I am an older guy, and I needed a straight-forward comfortable bike. This one fits the bill. It seems to be very sturdy and solid. Moving it to the basement (in pieces) was a challenge though, it's heavy. If you are going to assemble this bike yourself, I strongly recommend that you get the Youtube video, released by Schwinn, showing how to assembling an IC3 bike. The video is outstanding! Don't try to assemble it using the manual, get the video. I was surprised that the stablizer bolt holes did not quite line up with the bolt holes in the frame. However we were able to put in the bolts. Overall a relatively easy assembly (thanks to my wife who found the video). Update: I found the seat that comes with the bike to be far to narrow for me. I ordered a Schwinn Extra Comfort seat from a a company affiliated with Schwinn. I checked the Schwinn website to determine which seat would be compatible with this bike. They only listed one seat as being compatible. The new seat is far more comfortable.
