I can confirm because I went through multiple pairs. The only reason I didn't give them one star is because they were functional...for a bit.If you're looking for cheap earbuds, go with Panasonic RPHJE120K (there is another version with a mic as well, if that matters to you). Not only are they better in pretty much every way (the noise-cancelling and the flat wires on these are the only things that are better about them, but they ended up "crinkling"), but they're also only SEVEN DOLLARS! I'm much happier with those.
