**Q: can it hold mxl 990 with spider mount.?**
A: I’m currently using it b with a Hyper X Quad Cast which is lighter than a mxl 990. With a mic that heavy I would go with Rode boom arm my personal opinion.

**Q: If I turn it around can it be used close to the floor? (I'd like to mount it up higher than where it will be used.)**
A: The arm is pretty sturdy and should be able to support the weight of the microphone if it was mounted upside down. That being said the real answer may depend on a couple of factors like the angle and the weight of the mic itself, etc.

**Q: Can the 5/8 adaptor come off? The Wave 3 has a smaller screw hole**
A: No, but typically a lot of microphones can remove their smaller thread with a coin and unscrew it. If you do so, it will typically fit a 5/8th thread

**Q: Would it hold SM7B and would it fit it?**
A: Yes, it will fit the SM7B. The Shure SM7B may have the thread adapter in it, so you will need to unscrew it in order to use the microphone arm.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Budget Alternative To RODE-PSA1

Model: Puroma "MAS38" aka (38" arm") extends to 3 feet long.Story: I needed a upgrade for my mic setup so I was looking to see what's out there. I found this Puroma one and I looked at the reviews and most people said it's good. I bought this mic arm back in late 2021 and i'm now doing a review because why not it might be useful to some people. Let's just say that this mic arm has standed against the times and has not weared much if any at all. This might not be the most accurate use case though because I don't move or adjust the arm much unless i'm moving it out of the way to reach the back of my motherboard or unclamping it from my desk to clean.Pros: Built Sturdy, Arm doesn't move unintentionally (at joints), Clamp works perfect (for me)Cons: for some the arms at the joints where it can bend up and down might be a little too tight for some users preference but it works for meTL:DR - I recommend this to anyone looking for a budget alternative to the RODE-PSA1

The arm works amazing for the price. I do get some squeaky sounds when moving the arm now that I’ve had it for about a year. I would recommend a larger version because the smaller one can work well for mine but maybe people who have larger desks won’t reach or if you have a large monitor setup won’t reach above their monitor. If you’re the type of person that moves this things way too much this will last far less, roughly 1-2 years. It’s great for the price but get a larger one, you will enjoy it a lot better in the long run.
