The pins screwed in easily and fully on both hard and soft parts of the sofa. I just ordered another set and the pins that came with it are different. They don't screw in easily or fully, and basically do not work. They have a thinner, longer metal spiral with a different shape compared to the previous pins. If I had received this in first order I would have rated it as low as possible and sent it back as defective. The Furniture Defender company's phone number was on a sheet included with the product. I called them and they are mailing me a new set of pins today. The person I spoke to was awesome and understood immediately that the pins could be a problem, and was concerned. I'll update the review if for some reason I don't get the replacement pins or there is any further problem.
