The collar is sturdy and especially valuable at the dog park. I only use the sound and vibration options, and my dog responds immediately with no training required. At the park, this has been a game-changer. When my dog starts to run towards a skirmish or potential fight, a. press of the sound button brings her running back to me. This alone makes it worth the price! The only downside is that there is no way to know when the power is running low. I have to remember to charge it regularly. Another issue I had with the first collar was that it stopped working. When I noticed that my dog wasn't responding, I tested it on myself and it wasn't functioning. However, the company's customer service was excellent...I spoke with a very helpful representative who walked me through troubleshooting. When it was clear that the unit had failed, she quickly arranged to send me a brand new set.
