Review: Works great, even in my metal door - At first it wasn't working very reliably on my metal door, I went back and made the opening an extra 1/2" larger, leaving just two metal tabs of the door to anchor the trim. I only did this on the outside/exit side of the door, didnt touch the inside and its touching the frame of the sureflap and it works 100% of the time. Try this before dropping another $20 on the metal door frame, I really only think you need that for glass. Didnt cut any extra of the foam core of the door either so it stayed snug, used expanding foam insulation spray before putting the trim on. Make sure you use the expanding foam for vinyl windows, the regular foam will put pressure on the sureflap as it dries and could cause the flap to not flap because its being squeezed. That regular construction foam will bend window and door frames as it dries and your door wont close. At first we used some tape to hold the flap open so they would just use the hole for a while and the sure flap would click and they would freak out at first. Then we let the door down and used some tape stuck to the door so when they would walk up we would lift the door from the inside and then let it down on them so they could get used to it on their back as they slid through. Really only did that for one cat, the other just started following the first one. Watching them go through from the back is amusing, the fat cat looks like a seal with its legs both sticking straight out as she pulls herself through with her front paws. I was very surprised how fast they got used to it. Good deal and very functional, cant believe how well the chip reader works. Were still on first set of batteries, with two cats using the door 20+ times a day after 3 months.

**Q: Do you have to have the hub for the system to work?**
A: No you do not need the hub for the door to work. With the hub as an add-on you can control locking or unlocking the door, keep track on usage (in & out times) , battery level, setting curfue, and other things thru wi fi app from another location. You will be very pleased with the addition of the hub.

**Q: For the curfew, instead of locking the door, can you put a set it so that it turns to “in only” at a specific time each fay?**
A: Yes. And also for certain cats. It can be set so one or more of your cats are controlled by curfue and others are not controlled by curfue. It can be personalized for each cat.

**Q: Can this be installed in a wall?**
A: I have installed one in an interior wall. Worked fine.

**Q: Is this compatable with the Avid 9 digit chip?**
A: "Compatible."  I think so.  The door can read all common pet microchips, even the German one in one of my cats.  
What it had trouble with was reading the chip in one of my cats, a big male.  I think the chip is too far back on his shoulders to be read 100% of the time when he just gets near the door.  I added a little tab that imitates a microchip on his collar, and that is read reliably.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nach Anruf beim Support perfekte Klappe

Also wir waren ehrlich ein wenig gefrustet und kurz davor die Klappe zurück zu geben.. Grund dafür war das die Klappe auch ohne unsere Katze in der Nähe wahllos geöffnet hat wenn wir unsere Hand durchsteckten. Abhilfe schaffte ein Anruf beim Support.. Er konnte die Klappe von der Ferne aus so umkonfiguriere das sie unempfänglicher gegen störende Funkfrequenzen in der Nähe ist. Beim nächsten Test machte Klappe zuverlässig nur auf wenn unsere Katze durch wollte. Somit ist es genau die richtige Klappe mit der WLAN Erweiterung und App Anbindung für uns und läuft nun erfolgreich im "Türbetrieb". Vielen Dank auch nochmal an den tollen Support der wirklich schnell und gut erreichbar war.
