I didn't want some flimsy piece of junk. Which is exactly what you will find with anything cheaper than this.Easy, thirty minute assembly time. The directions aren't quite up to par with IKEA, but each step offers an exploaded view that clearly illustrates how each piece (part, bolt, washer, nut, zip tie, etc.) connects to another. The fasteners are all packaged in groups that align with the steps. It's not that difficult to deduct from the image which package belongs to which step.This spreader does not have an auger built in. It is not advertised to have one. As a result, any moisture contamination can lead to clumping, bridging, and other issues that could restrict the flow of product from the hopper.NOTE: The best way to fight clumping is to add an auger or buy a spreader with an auger. An affordable auger-like solution, use your drill with a paint mixer to break up the clumps.Bottom line: If you want a fancy plug-and-play solution, go pay $800+ for it. This product is not for you. I had to extend the power cord 10 feet to fit my truck. Also, I didn't realize it was manual operation to open the spreader to apply salt or sand. This creates a pile of salt as you run back to the drivers seat and start moving. The product in the spreader gets hung up.
