My knee was deeply bruised (soft tissue injury) and I did not want to give up my daily yoga, so I needed something that provided extra cushioning. I really like it because it gave just enough added padding between my knees and the hard floor. I use it primarily for yoga, but it also comes in handy when I'm doing cardio and toning exercises on the floor. I have been using it on a daily basis for almost a year now (10.5 months), and it only recently started to feel like it had lost some of thickness; it feels a little more compressed than it used to. It does not regain its shape as quickly after I've left an impression in it (such as hand prints from downward dog), and it has one small tear in it. However, this wear & tear has not prevented it from being a great mat to have handy for daily use. I do plan to replace it soon but that is not a comment on this mat; I just want to upgrade to something with larger than standard dimensions.Here is what I really like about the mat:- Carrying strap makes for easy, compact storage & travel- Not slippery; it stays put on my carpet & my hands can grip well when in yoga poses (it does slip a little on wooden flooring though)- Does not get more slippery with sweat (and trust me, I have drenched this thing in workouts before)- Extra thickness is great on joints- Lasted a long time in terms of thickness- Does not keep indentations from my hands/feet or the strap- Maintains well with regular cleaning (I used a gentle yoga mat cleaner)I have recently decided to look for extra long & wide mats because I feel like I often end up hanging off my mat somehow in floor work. If I could find this same mat but with extra large dimensions, I'd be really great. I'd recommend this for sure! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Nice and padded but hard to move in to positions *by M***W on Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2016* I was looking for a padded mat to cushion my joints during yoga and pilates. It works great! I like that it had straps to carry. The only issue I have is that it makes a noise (a very embarrassing sounding one) when you move from one position to the next. For example, you can't adjust your lunge.. It's so padded that your feet/arms are cushioned in, so you can't glide on to the next position like a regular mat... you will have to lift a little and adjust. I'm a beginner yogi, so it's not a huge problem for me, but I think a more advanced person doing flow, might have some issues with this mat. I think I read another review about it...It rolls up pretty big, even if you try to roll it really tight.. so its much much bulkier than a regular mat. You need to be careful with finger nails and other pointy things that might tare the mat.
