I would describe the material as being like something used in upholstery, something able to withstand many compressions. I would recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ good but short *by V***E on May 30, 2021* I have this -- i actually have two of them because my husband got me one. it works fine. my friend gave me his old one that is about 2-4 inches taller. i think i like the taller one better. but again, this one works fine. the pellets are worthless. i have been using pine needles, pine cones, and paper. my professional bee keeper friend has taught me to use the wood chips you put in the bottom of a critter cage....
