They are good quality pecans that I roasted in the oven for 10 minutes prior to adding them to a new side dish I made. Recipe Idea: I used a half package of pecans and added 1/4 cup of dried cranberries to taste, then drizzled a tablespoon of dark maple syrup and mixed with a large spoon in a quart size bowl. I also cut 5 strips of bacon into 2 inch bite sizes and oven roasted them for about 20 min., laid them on a paper towel to remove excess grease. Add the bacon to the pecan mixture and set the pecans bowl aside. Now prepare the fresh Brussels Sprouts. After rinsing 2 lbs. with water, use a paper towel to pat dry, slice or remove any brown, loose leaves and discard. Lightly coat them with 1 TBS. olive oil by shaking them in a plastic zip-lock bag. Place them in an open baking dish or roasting pan, sprinkle lightly with salt and roast for 45 minutes in the oven at 400 degrees until they turn brownish, almost black.
