MedvanceTM MedHeal Silver Calcium Alginate Ag Sterile Highly absorbent Dressing, 2"x2", 5 Dressings/Box. MedHeal Silver Alginate Dressing is a pliable and absorbent fiber dressing made of calcium alginate high in Mannuronic acid. MedHeal Silver Alginate turns into gel when in contact with wound exudate and delivers cool and comfort sensation. The dressing maintains a moist environment to facilitate the wound healing. The in-vitro results demonstrate the impregnated silver delivers a broad-spectrum activity against Gram-Negative and Gram-Positive bacteria, commonly associated with wound infections: Staphylococcus aurous, Streptococcus pyogenes, Enterococcus facials, Escherichia coli, Klesiella pneumonia and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. MedHeal Silver Alginate Dressing can be cut and trimmed to fit the wound bed and can be removed intact without causing trauma or a secondary damage to the wound bed and surrounding area.

**Q: The item is listed as Silver Calcium but the package says nothing about Calcium at all. Is there a difference, because I need Silver Calcium**
A: Not sure, but it does help heal open wounds

**Q: Does it have an expiration date?**
A: Yes. It is visible in the picture but the purchase will be valid. The ones I purchased don’t expire till 2025.

**Q: Does it need tape or something to keep it in place?**
A: You need a cover dressing such as Allevyn foam adhesive border or Tegaderm plastic film adhesive  (or equivalent dressings) for a longer wear time. You can use gauze and tape if you choose.
This product is meant to give extra absorption of wound drainage while providing antibacterial protection.
