Are you using the rubber pad that comes with your machine? It has to be placed inside the coffee portafilter before running the cleaning cycle. If water flows freely down and out of the coffee sprouts then there is no enough pressure in the portafilter to dissolve the tablet and to force the water and the cleaning solution up the group head. The point of using the rubber filter is to create back flow up into the group head to clean it. Sometimes even if you do all of that correctly you need to keep running the cycle until you dissolve the entire tablet. **Q: Can these be used in a drip filter machines like Bunn?** A: I don’t think so… these are meant to dissolve under the espresso machine’s high pressure, and be flushed out in the same manner.
