Sometimes you need to give it a little tappy tap on the side of the base to get the motor going at the normal speed and on the one I received you have to leave 1 of the batteries sticking out slightly for it to work which means it doesn't sit flat. This made it a bit awkward to use but I have to say it mixes stuff up really well.
