Depending on the weather here in California, I get about 3 months out of a light application before having to re-apply it. I apply it with a small of cloth at the end of the day. It seems to fill the micro pores of the iron. I wipe any excess in the morning. It makes my table tops slicker. It has never caused fish eye in any of my finishes. It is also a good lubricant. Significantly cheaper than some of the others, and is very clean and very mild odor when compared with WD-40. I wipe down handtools and cast iron tops with this stuff after use and it has worked exceptionally well, and there is no silicone to hamper wood finishing.
