This is a very well-made tape measure. **Q: Does this have the black and red stud marks printed on the tape at 12 & 16 inches?** A: There are red stud marks every 16 inches along the entire tape. There is a black marker every 12 inches, marking each foot. This is the best tape measure I have ever used, both in terms of the way the markings are set up on both sides of the tape, the way it fits the hand, and the very smooth and reliable mechanics of the tape itself. **Q: how many. the photo says 5 pack on the top right?** A: You must be looking at something different than me I can't find about a a 5 pack. I paid around $11.00 for one. I really like it. Marked on both sides. I started using metric working out of the country. I love it. **Q: How accurate is this tape measure in the real world? Most of the 5-star reviews appear to be fake.** A: It's fairly accurate. Komelon makes a good measure and I have used many of their products in the past. As an aside, Walmart had the Komelon brand as their in-house standard until they began manufacturing the Hart brand. I, personally, prefer the Komelon over the Hart brand (I have both brands) because they were a little lighter, and the blades were a little stiffer, not to mention cheaper in price. (Specifically the Komelon 3516 16 ft measure) Walmart sold them for $4.96 each for a long time, and I stockpiled quite a few of them. At 5 bucks a pop, if I trashed one, no big loss. However, if you're like many people who duff around in your workshop, you're constantly moving from this measure to that measure, and not realizing that you are causing your own mis-readings. ALL measures will inherently have anywhere from 1/64th to 1/32 error. And this error grows with the age/usage of the measure. When you are working on something, use only ONE measure. Keep it on your belt or a better idea is to get a shop apron and keep in your apron. That way, you reduce the chances of inducing a error without realizing it. A lot of newbies in an effort to eliminate the error will brad down the rivets on the hook to prevent the natural movement. DON'T DO IT!!
