Upon opening it, it doesn't even look like Vornado... I plugged it in to try it and it is sounds like the motor is broken and within seconds I can smell burning wire that filled my entire living room. Horribly dissapointing. Review: Terrible - Had to return 2 of these now. The first worked for around 15 minutes before dying and the second one didn't work at all. It can be tricky the first time but once you do it, it becomes easier. **Q: Is this electric or battery powered?** A: It is electric. **Q: does this create a nice white noise? Looking to use as white noise while sleeping.** A: Yes. This fan has a steady 'white noise' sound. On low it is softer than on the high setting. I like both of the levels. the sound seems to drown out other noises like cars going by etc. **Q: This can be angled downwards?** A: Not much. I wasn't quite sure if it would fit because when the description states 'MINI', I thought it was going to be a SMALL fan (Lol) so needless to say, I was quite surprised when I saw the box it came in and then taking it out. Well, my concerns were for nothing because the fan fits perfectly on my desk that has a monitor, desktop tower, keyboard, ps4, etc. It's a very nice retro looking fan. The speeds are low and high and it's very quiet on the low setting and not so bad on the high setting either. Puts out very nice air flow. And the Teal color is BEAUTIFUL!!!
