However for the bird living inside it’s quite small. You can really only have a VERY small bird like a parakeet or a finch living in this. Any other bird would not be able to fly in here and it would just be miserable.. The seed catcher does not catch the seeds. The covers where the birdseed bowls go aren’t large enough to help Keep the seeds from shooting over. When the seeds fall to the bottom the seed catcher does not catch them. It goes through the odd bars that they have where the seed tray is. The bars let the seeds fall out on the floor anyhow. Lastly I never understand why birdcages don’t have perches directly in front of the bowl’s so that the birds can perch there and poop on the floor and not in the water bowl directly next to it which they will do if the perch is only in the middle between the two bowls. You will need to put a perch in front of the two bowls in my opinion so they can eat more comfortably. Unfortunately I missed the return window. This cage did not work for our bird it was just to small. I’m giving 3 stars because the paint job is very nice it’s well made. I first bought the slightly smaller cage then upgraded to this one. I have 2 aducockatiels who find this cage big enough to constantly mate in and they now wish to lay their 3rd clutch. So they are very happy. I still have 2 8 months old in with them and is big enough for the 4. It is not the pretiest cage- but great for the birds- every inch is usable space. My birds very active- I put ladders of all kinds running top to bottom in back and love to watch them- up and down all day - run run run! **Q: Can the bottom grate be removed so my birds can walk on the bottom plastic pan? If yes, does it leave space to outside? I do not like wire grates.** A: Yes, it can be removed, however, I wouldn't recommend it because it leaves a gap that could lead to an injured bird. I do not like my birds to walk on grates either so I put a layer of newspaper on top of the grate. The birds have a flat surface to forage on and it makes cleaning the bottom of the cage very easy--just change the newspaper, wrapping up whatever messes the birds have made in it. This cage is perfect for my birds as it is very big and there's plenty of room for them to fly in it. I'm hoping to get another couple of budgies to go in there as it's very roomy and will accommodate a couple more. There's plenty of doors on the cage and the bottom tray is easy to remove and clean. The added advantage of the wheels is great for when I'm hoovering as I can move it easily. There's also a shelf along the bottom of the cage to store food, millet and other accessories. Included in the cage is perches and dishes.
