I won’t buy these again for my ooni (fyra). Tends to leave a layer of ash which stops the gravity feed working. The fire then goes cold. I bought the maple for reference. **Q: Are these hard or soft wood?** A: These are hard wood pellets - soft wood is not suitable for pellet grills **Q: What is the moisture value of these pellets?** A: Moisture content is less than 10% across the range of pellets. All are pure wood with no additives so the calorific value changes with the species.Beech and Oak burn the hottest any of the other woods are best for flavour not specifically heat - they can be used in a combination with beech or oak. **Q: Any ideas what pellets are best for pizza.... ooni pellets are so expensive** A: We have a ooni pizza oven, like you thought their pellets were over priced. I’m glad we did as I would nearly prefer to use the pellets as they are so easy to light and control. 👍🏻 ### ⭐⭐⭐ ok, but not as good as Ooni branded pellets *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 5 July 2021* I bought these to use with an Ooni Fyra. They work ok, light very easily. However they seem to produce a little more ash than the original Ooni branded pellets which I bought with the oven. They have a tendency to stick in the delivery tube & have a fairly strong 'fuel' smell when burning however this is not transferred to the pizzas. If cooking just a couple of pizzas they are fine but need more attention than ideal on a long cooking session to keep the required heat.
