**Q: Would the cover for the wide mouth 32 oz. fit on this jar?**
A: Yes all wide mouth jars use the same covers .

**Q: what structure is the lid? looks like a thin piece of metal wrap by a band?**
A: I have two of these. Just like most mason jars it has a two part lid. A thin top and a metal band that screws it on.

**Q: can you pour boiling water in this to make hot tea with an infusion tube**
A: If the jar is room temperature, you should not have any problem pouring boiling water into the jar. They are made to withstand above-boiling-point temperatures for canning purposes. If you were to have a very cold jar, the temperature difference might cause the jar to fracture.

**Q: what is the diameter of the opening?**
A: This jar is a typical wide mouth opening measuring 3 inches.

Have always stuck to the same brand of mason jars and now the replacement lids I use on the jars also happen to fit nicely on a couple of sets of sprouting jars I use, so that makes the soaking phase of the sprouting process easier and free from risk of spillage, by using the Ball lids. Have always used Ball jars for soaking wild rice prior to cooking, as well as chickpeas and quinoa, before I discovered the benefits of sprouting them. These jars are perfect for storage, easy to clean and with replaceable lids, they should last a lifetime. These 1000ml jars can soak up to a cup and a half of chickpeas. They are sturdy, with measuring scales in metric and imperial units marked on two sides.
