The ultrasoft earplugs hadn't even expanded back to their full size before the pressure in my ear canals became uncomfortable, and they were also too long in length for me to sleep on my side. The silicone earplugs worked well to drown out noise (since they mold to your ear's external shape) but unsurprisingly stuck to my hair and pillowcase and pulled themselves out in the middle of the night. These Mack slimfits are significantly narrower and also shorter than the regular size, and still block out a fair amount of noise. With them in, I can't hear my neighbor's TV sounds through the wall, I can't hear my boyfriend snoring next to me, I'll wake up in the morning and the earplugs are still in place, and my ear canals won't hurt. They can also be reused several times before they stop rebounding after they're compressed. Besides the obvious color difference (Slim Fit is purple and Dreamgirl are Fuscia colored) the Dreamgirl are slightly contoured, along the length of the earplug, ending in a slightly wider base. The Dreamgirl have a slightly pointier tip, so if you have very small ear canals, you may find the Dreamgirl earplugs slightly easier to insert. Highly recommend for other people with small sensitive ears and loud neighbors! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for light sleeping apartment dwellers *by K***. on April 18, 2019* I have been using Home Depot brand orange earplugs for years when I have trouble sleeping because of noisy neighbors, or if I want to sleep with the window open, but if I wear earplugs for more than one night, my ear canals start to hurt because the earplugs are too wide. So I got these because they are supposed to be narrower. They are indeed narrower, and don't hurt my ears nearly as much. I still have a little pain just because I just now switched to these earplugs, so we will have to see if these cause me pain over time. My old earplugs have a 32 decibel rating, and these have a lower rating, but I don't hear a noticeable difference. For reference, I can very quietly hear my small desk fan across the room, me shutting my bedroom door, or the toilet flush or sink water run if I go to the bathroom during the night. But I don't hear my upstairs neighbors clomping around, that one dog in the community that barks all night, street noises from the road nearby, or people talking outside as they walk past. And since I sleep alone that's all that bothers me. I wouldn't be able to tell you how it would work if I had a partner who was snoring or something like that. But for a single apartment dweller, they work fine. I don't think I would recommend them for work with heavy machinery or power tools, and probably not for concerts either. I'll have to test it out the next time I go to a concert. I have not had the fit issues other reviewers have had. The earplug goes in easily and stays put. They seem to be shorter than my old earplugs so they don't go into my ear as deep as I would expect.
